Eli Ships Minibang!

About

A mini bang is a smaller version of a fandom event called the Big Bang where fanfic writers and artist gets paired up and collab to create fan-fic and art. Their partners and work are kept secret from the public until MiniBang Day when everyone publishes their works at the same time (hence the bang!) Big Bangs typically involve fic of a minimum of 50k words, but minibangs require much less. This is a free event to connect creators and give smaller creators a chance to collaborate and promote themselves! 1. Sign-up period: Three kinds of sign ups: writer, artist and beta. In the end, everyone who was accepted can join a Discord server or be reminded of Mini-Bang deadlines via email or social media!
2. Writer creation period: Writers prepare their prompts for the fic as well as 50% progress. Writer can request a beta and work with them.
3. Claim period: The writer's prompts will be listed anonymously for the artists (this is to prevent biases due to the popularity of artists or writers). From this, the artist claims any fan-fic they would like to create art for, but their final partner will only be one or two.
4. Artist and Writer creation period: Artist and writer will communicate with each other in this period. During this time, no posting of WIP or revealing their partners to the public!
5. The MiniBang! Everyone posts their creations on the same day! The fan fiction must be posted in AO3, including the link to the artwork/s and beta, and it will be added to the Eli Ship Minibang collection. Writer and artist can also post their creations together on social media, we will reshare them! All creations will be listed in this Carrd at the end of the minibang~

Guidelines

General Rules
- Do not post the full product before the final deadline! Posting WIP or snippets is allowed
- Do not reveal your partner writer/beta/artist before the Minibang!
- If you woud like to drop out, please make sure you have the consent of all partners prior before informing mods! The mods will contact everyone to reconfirm and reassign partners if needed
- That said, we especially hope writers only join if they can commit to finishing their fic on time as dropping out of writers means we'd have to reassign their partner artists
- Please be respectful to your partner and other creators! If there are any problems, always contact the mods first!
- Violation of any of the below criteria can result in removal from the event
- Missing any deadlines without alerting the mods might result in your removal from the event, please be mindful of the schedule!
- We try our best to create a safe space and do not want to be the reason someone receives harassment. That said, please always choose civil and level-headed discussions with the mods over public discourse.Creator's Criteria
- At least 16 before March 31st 2024
- Writers must have an AO3 account!
- Does not ship Eli with minors or minor-coded Eli skin with adults
- No history of harassment
- Prior experience in writing, beta and art is not requiredShip Criteria
- Eli must be an adult, and the partner/s must also be adult characters
- Mono or Poly is ok
- Romantic or platonic is ok!
- Eli x OC are ok
- Eli x Hunter are ok
- Background none-Eli ship is ok, as long as the Eli ship is the centre of attention.Fic Criteria
- Minimum 3500 words, maximum 50000 words!
- SFW only! (eg. Rating T or G)
- If there's mild gore, body horror, or implied content, please tag and rate it appropriately
- Any language is ok!
- No series or sequels! Multiple chapters are ok!
- Any universe! Canon, essence, alternate, original etc.
- Interpretation of Eli's or other character's ethnicity, gender, and sexuality is open!
- No Dead-doves
- No forms of bigotry whatsoeverArt Criteria
- 2D or 3D illustrations/ cosplay photographs/ animation/ animatics/ collages/ songs are allowed
- New and original works only
- The content must also be agreed upon by the writer, this is a collaboration after all!
- No editing or video edit of existing arts
- NO AI ART or any form of automatic image generation
- NO ART THEFT or TRACINGBeta Criteria
- Does not need prior experience in writing,
- Can give constructive criticisms
- Be friendly and respectful to the writer

FAQ

Do I need a portfolio?
Nope! Minibangs are sign-ups only, as long as you apply, you're in :) However, we will reject participants that do not fulfill the creator's criteria.How many words should I write for the fic?
Minimum 3500 words, maximum 50000 words! A little less than 3500 is ok.Does the fic have to be in English?
Nope! The fic can be in any language. Please specify this during the claim period so the artist and beta can be informed.Does the illustration have to be fully finished? How many illustration do I have to draw for the writer?
It's up to you! It can be a sketch, line only, no background, or anything! Can be one, two or more. As long as the writer agrees with it and you are comfortable with it as well.Can I write more than one fic?
No, sorry! Only one work per writer is allowed!I'm already assigned a writer, can I draw for another writer even if they're all claimed?
No, sorry! Please limit yourself to one writer unless circumstances call for it.Can I reuse old fan fiction/artwork? Is WIP allowed?
No, sorry! We would like new original content! Using a WIP that has not been posted publicly, however, is allowed!Can I co-write one fic with another writer?
Yes you can! If you want to beta each other that's also ok! But this counts as one fic and you will get at least one art.I already have someone in mind I want to partner up with as a writer/artist/beta before the application/just knew them in the server, can I pair up with them?
Sure thing! Just inform the mods and you will get right into pairing~What if no one claimed my fan-fic?
All writers will definitely have a partner artist! Artists may be asked to draw for more than one writer.What if all the writers I claimed have a partner?
You may choose to create for any one of your chosen fan-fics (so they will get more than one art). You would have to discuss the art with both the writer and the already assigned artist!What if I had a prior negative experience with one of the writers/artists?
If you do, please contact the mods privately so we can ensure you are not paired up.What if issues arise with my partner during creation?
If you do, please contact the mods privately. If you would still like to stay at the event, we will try to find a new partner for you, though it's not guaranteed.Can I still join if I am blocked by the mods/blocked the mods?
Yes, you can, as long as you still adhere to the creator's criteria. However, do sign-up at your own discretion.Do I have to join a discord server?
There will be discord server but it's not mandatory to join, you can even leave anytime you want. If you are not in the server, we will send email reminders about the event, or you can also keep track of updates in our social media!Where can I ask questions?
